.
"Genga" is a term applied
to a prototype drawing made by a senior drawer (or "Producer") for the
animators to copy and use to make the animated cels.
"Cel" is a final copy made
on a transparent plastic sheet that is ready to be photoed by a animating
camera to produce a cartoon.
This is one of many gengas
used by the animators to produce a rough story. Following a script,
a senior drawer draws this picture. This genga is used to produce Ami's
First Love, a theaterical special.
