Copper Falls Datolites
Vicinity of Copper Falls, Keweenaw CO., Michigan
Field-collecting Status:  All Private Properties. no treaspassing!

The Copper Falls area is known for its veins of pink to white crystalline datolite veins. The Owl Creek Fissure is an example that is abundant with pinkish datolite crystals as well as other interesting minerals such as natrolite, calcite and copper crystals. The Hill fissure to the north have produced mostly white datolites from a seam while there are some additional datolite sites near Torch Lake to the north of Copper Falls area. There had been reports of colorful datolites, but few datolites are found around that area.
