The Cinnamon Beds is one of several long known sites that had been explored for many decades and the name was inspired by the hollow thundereggs lined with red to brown hued druzy quartz, hence "Cinnamon Bowl".  The site was heavily dug up, but it's still possible to find something there. The greenish white thundereggs are mostly hollow and multi-chambered, usually lined with chalcedony and druzy quartz. I explored it for a short time to see if it produces any banded agate and found few ones in smaller thundereggs. The agates are clear to gray and I found one with orange agate (a surprise find). There was a story of a rockhounder discovering a large pocket of cinnamon colored druzy quartz lined hollow thundereggs and how his partner was armed with a gun to guard their pocket until it had been dug out. The large pit dug by the armed rockhounders is still there.
