Richie Ranch Agates
Alpine, Brewster County, Texas
   The ranch on south side of Alpine is open only to collecting tours and it's great for any novices/families to learn their rock-collecting ways. White agates are scattered all over while some colorful agates are found in some places.  Sagenitite and Plume agates had been found from time to time.  There is also a site where Native Americans chipped the exposed red-brown jasper outcrop to produce their stone tools.
