A new find of lavender to pink agates were brought to my attention at Deming Show in March 2015 and it was an accidental discovery. The miner was prospecting and ran out of water. He was heading toward a well to replenish his water bottle and he stumbled upon the agates scattered on the ground. Someone jokingly called him "Hijo Del Sol" ("Son of the Sun) and the name stuck.
     The nodules are somewhat small with lot of brown moss inclusions, but interesting specimens come up such as pseudomorphs and laguna-like appearances. The agates are generally lavender to strong pink colors, sometimes with bright yellow and white colors. The druzy quartz encrusted psuedmorphs are found. It's possible to find any agates with two or more color combo.
