from Minnesota |
| So many Lake Superior Agates
including large ones are found in the gravel pits
and rivers in the eastern Minnesota and western
Wisconsin. The source of the agates is apparently
from under Lake Superior that had been gorged out
by ancient glaciers before depositing them
throughout several Midwest States. Some are found
along the beaches of Minnesota and Wisconsin as
rounded forms. Strong red, brown and gray colors
and potato shapes are the characteristics of the
agates coming from Minnesota. |
