West Java Agates
West Java of Indonesia

It's becoming hard to get any agates from Asia mainly due to the fact that the agates tend to be sent to China for carving purposes. The West Java Purple Agate are passed as "Purple Chalcedony" and sold by gram just like chryosprase (green agate).
The colors of the West Agate range from purplish gray to purple, hence "Purple Chalcedony" and occasionally come with white, yellow and red colors. Some agates contain some good shadowing effects, and  plume-like inclusions. The colors of most agates will fade once cut and polished and few agates will retain their purple colors. Apparently, the water trapped within the agates enhanced the colors.
