Recently, the agates from East Timor showed up at Tuscon shows and they usually come in large sizes and fractured. Most agates are dull black to brown sometimes with banding. Some agates came with stronger brown, black, gray and tan colors and bandings as well as quite interesting patterns and structures. The yellow, pink and red colors are noted in some agates and the funny thing is that the agates with brighter colors seem to be more fractured than those with darker colors. If one sees a Botswana Agate that seem to be larger than usual, it may be actually from East Timor (Botwsana agate have paler skin) after having seen a broken clunk of East Timor agate that looks like Botswana agate.
