TRSE: How To Draw Tutorials:
All about the Hairstyles in Animanga

First thing, have you read the "Reading the Patterns in the Pictures" article? If you don't, you would have no idea what I'm talking. Start reading that important article, and then come back to here because I am to show you how to read the 'patterns' in the hairstyles hands and use that to learn to use them instead of showing how to draw a hairstyle of each character a step by step.
Everything always can be broken into simple patterns by using our imaginations, and such patterns can help make it easier to draw anything and even hairstyles no matter how complicated, can be broken into simple patterns. It's also easier to draw the patterns making up of hairstyles a step by a step instead of trying to draw the entire hair at once.

Examples of how some hairstyles can be broken up into simple patterns.

..
Winry of FullMetal Alchemists.......................................... Renji of Bleach

You can see how such simple hairstyles closely follow the shape of the heads. Winry is a natural blonde with the bangs brushed to one side while Renji's hair is more exotic because of its reddish color with very pointy ponytail, the kind you almost don't see in the real world.

..
Naruto of Naruto.................................................... Kenshin of Ruoruni Kenshin

I noticed that the lines making up the hairstyles of some characters, are connected to a common point, and such technique is obvious in the pictures of Naruto and Kenshin above. That technique may help make it easier to draw the complex hairstyle that follow the shape of the head.

..
Captain Aizen of Bleach.....................................................Khi of Dears

It may be bit tricky to make the hairstyles like one of Captain Aizen look more realistic because of strong curving nature of his hair while Khi's hairstyle may seem complicated, but easier to draw because his hairstyle is done in geometric (sharp edges) fashion.

The varying hairstyles are also due to the preferences of the artists. Some artists (like myself) may prefer to draw realistic hair while others prefer geometric and colorful hairstyles. It's up to you to decide on how you would like to draw the hairstyles. Let's how how the the imaginary patterns can be used to draw the hairstyles on your own.
