A
very important advice: Be cautious when handling
information sources for many of them are not accurate and usually based
on the assumed information given by the fans. Also DON'T believe ANY rumors
for it is very common for the rumors to be proven false. For example: It
was said that Haruka (Amara) aka Sailor Uranus was originally "Prince Uranus"
in her previous life, but the evidences shown in Naoko T.'s mangas disproved
that info. According to Naoko Takeuchi's mangas, Haruka Tenoh was a princess
of Uranus in her previous life, and "Prince Uranus" was a result of a misinformation
given by an fan (notely one of the staff of the "Save our Sailors"
site). There is this saying: "Think twice
before you believe in something".
A real-life example: You notice
a very tall girl who seemed to be alone and lonely, and your friend told
you that this tall girl is a bully who likes to get in fights and don't
want any friends. Would you believe her? Well, then don't 100% believe
her! Think before you believe what is told to you. What if this tall girl
is actually a very gentle and friendly girl, and the fights with her were
actually started by some bad boys wanting to get their dirty hands on her.
A wise person always shall
be cautious when receiving any information due to the possibility that
some info are false, so think before believing anything (not follow them
like some "brainwashed" people) and never ever trust any rumors. All of
you guys out there are asked to be cautious with any information out there.
Sailor Moon
Episodes (both Japanese & English versions)
The episodes are the best
source of info, but the problem is that the information present in the
episodes are subject to varying interpretations resulting in disputes.
The episodes also left many questions unanswered. For example, some believe
that Makato(Lita) and Shinozaki(Ken) are lovers, and some (including myself)
believe that they are more of a brother and a sister.
Websites:
Bunny's Tour Through the
Silver Millenium
This six years old is most excellent Sailor Moon
information website I have came across even it's not 100% complete. Plenty
of information on characters, episodes, sources, mythologies, fanarts,
fanfics, and many others, and it also takes in accord of what are presented
in Dies Guada
Dies Guada
An
excellent, simple, and very important information website containing the
references that explains Japanese language, how the Japanese names were
created, as well as demostrating the evidences on which names should be
correctly spelled/correctly used (for example: Helios is a correct name
for the Pegasus while Elios is not). Also presents the notes on the meanings
of "Saturn" and "Pluto" and how Naoko T. assigns the Planet names to Hotaru
and Trista (Setsuna). This website also points out the well known questions
lacking actual answers, and challenges many aspects of information especially
some of the widely accepted information given by major fans. For example:
"Inner Senshi" and "Outer Senshi" are actually given by the fans, and the
website explains the problem with the "Inner Senshi" is that Jupiter happens
to be one of the Outer Planets. Just check it out and see what sort of
information that is either correct or incorrect.
The Oracle :: BSSM
Encyclopedia
A very good A-B-C encyclopedia that are based on
the research on both episodes, mangas, artwork books as well as mythologies,
and plenty more. I'm very hopeful this website will replace Hitoshi Doi's
SM encyclopedia as reliable and more updated soruce of information on SailorMoon.
^_^
Castle in the Sky(Info
on SM episodes) (established 1996)
Basic information, but have full list of SM
five-season episodes and Sera-Myu musicals listing with basic summeries.
Sailor
Moon Encyclopedia by Hitoshi Doi- (in need of updates)
An encyclopedia focusing
on the Japanese Version of Sailor Moon that includes info
on characters, episodes, products, and music. There is no info on the English
version of Sailor Moon in that website. Only problem is that the encyclopedia
is incomplete and in need of a new webmaster.
Sailor Moon Uncensored:
This website is an excellent source of information
on the differences between the original Japanese episodes and dubs. The
fans' opinions and editorials are also included. It also offers the reasons
why the fans must be cautious when reviewing the news & information
given by the staff of the "Save our Sailors" website.
Eternal-Moon.com:
Illustrated Episode Guide
A place to read on the summaries of the episodes
of all five Sailor Moon seasons, movies and Specials.
Sailor Senshi Page:
This page was one of few Sailor Moon pages
that have been active for more than five years, and I consider this site
to be an excellent source of info on Anime, Mangas, dubs (any dubs over
the world), Japanese myths, and anything else about Sailor Moon. It also
have list of differences between original Japanese verison and English
version and a long list of rumors that were proven to be false (a good
reason to distrust any rumors), very useful for anyone to check the rumors
to see if they're false or true.
Tomb of Little Known
Senshi
Despite its mistakes, and plenty of inaccurate information,
this website is a good source of info on the characters that are rarely
or never used in either the Sailor Moon Anime, as well as those Sailor
Scouts Ani-mates (Animal Senshi) from SMStars Series. For example: Have
you ever heard of Sailor Heavy Metal Papillion? She appeared only once
in Naoko T.' manga. How about Sailor Pewter Fox? She appeared only in
Sera Myu (Sailor Moon Musicals).
Books:
Sailor Moon Materials Artbooks by Naoko Takeuchi:
This book is a collection of Naoko T.'s characters
(both good guys and bad guys) sketches from every SM series, mangas, and
movies. Even it's in Japanese, it's very useful for any artists/storytellers
who want to make sure they get the details of the characters right. It
can be purchased from any stores specializing in anime stuff and Japanese
imports.
