Scottish Agates
Various Locations of Scotland, Europe
.
The Scottish agates were obtained from a Scottish rockhounder and he's still finding the agates at many different locations around Scotland. Cupar and Lithrie agates are the most famous types of Scottish agates ("Fairburns" of Scotland) and those agates were widely used in Victorian Era jewelry. Right now, they can be found only on the farmlands right after they have been plowed. Many agates are fractured as result of glacial activies and being plowed around, so it's rare to find any unfractured Cupnar/Lithrie agates. Other agates such as Ardownie, Basra, Balmerino, Glenfarg, and Tentismur were obtained from the quarries by hand.

Updated July 2009, new specimen have 2009y in their code names..
Larger pictures of any interested specimens can be provided at request
Note that fractures are very common among Scottish Agates.
