Profiles of JA's Characters & Villains:
  Kappa
"Stupid humans! They blame their troubles on us! -Dunce
Many mythologies around the world contain the stories of small mischievous creatures who liked to play bad pranks on anyone or cause troubles. The names given to them were ghouls, fairies, goblins, devils of Christianity, Lephradens of Ireland, and Kappa of Japan. The mythologies gave varying descriptions of such creatures, but basically, they were small with orangish skin, forked tails and protruding teeth. Even they showed up in JA's previous chapters to play some pranks, they "officially" first appeared JA's Sailor Chibimoon: The Queen of Kappa, and made friends with Hotaru (and later Chibiusa) who called them the Kappa based on her Japanese cultural background.
The Kappa were not smart to start with, and they tend to be more interested in just having fun by playing pranks. But they can be quite smart and bold when situations demand it such as protecting or supporting their friends. Their friendships can be won by doing good deeds for them (like giving them their favorite foods), and they'll become fiercely loyal friends.
-Dunce, one with four teeth, was the "top guy" of his Kappa gangs, and he's always in charge. He happened to be an expert on pranks.
-Duncer, a mustachioed brother of Dunce, was obsessed with art, and he claimed himself to be an superior artist despite his inferior art skulls. The funny thing was that he considered anyone else's artworks inferior.
-Duncest, a nerdy brother of Dunce with a fondness for turtle shells, was just a "dumb jinx" who kept getting himself injured in any sorts of accidents.
-Duncess, a sister of Dunce, always had crushes on any handsome men even they may be too big for her. She was great at hurling objects at others to knock them out.
-Duh, a bulky brother of Dunce, who appeared to be some brainless brute, and "Duh" wa all he can say But when it comes to Duh,. there's more than meets the eye.....

As in many mythologies around the world, those small creatures are infamous for their many forms of pranks (they just want to have fun).
Duncest liked to wear a turtle shell which may have inspired the stories of turtle shelled Kappa in Japanese mythology. Dunce had sported an Irish pipe, a hint that they may been responsible for the legends about those little mischievous Irish guys with the pots of gold as well as many other similar small creatures of various mythologies (ghouls, fairies, goblins, devils, etc..)
If treated nicely (do good deeds to them), and they'll become loyal friends and protect their friends from danger as Illina of Sedna found out the hard way when threatening Sailor Chibimoon who made friends with the Kappa (Sailor Chibimoon: The Queen of Kappa).
