Illina was an Inuit ("Eskimo") and former Sailor
Senshi of Sedna once the fifth Inner Planet (between Mars and Jupiter)
before it was mysteriously expelled and ended up in an orbit that takes
Sedna as far as the Oort Cloud, the outermost belt of the Solar System.
That would explain some myths about the missing planet from between Mars
and Jupiter. Besides Sailor Pluto, Illina was one of the last people with
direct connections to the Silver Millennium and beyond without any reincarnations
that other sailor senshi had undergone.
Her solo companion on Sedna was Datol encrusted in some kind of life sustaining crystal cocoon, but she was able to telepathically communicate with him. Datol was one of the original Celtic Druids during the Silver Millennium who specialized in producing the powered artifacts, and Illina appeared to maintain a forbidden form of relationship with him. It appeared that Ilina and Datol had a great deal of troubles with the original Queen Serenity especially since Datol the Druid had carried out some experiments considered illegal and unethical by the royal decree even Datol believed that he was doing them for the good of Silver Millennium. The "mini-planet", Sedna was discovered in November 2004, and it was one of several new discoveries that caused astronomers to rethink about the classifications of the planets (is Pluto really a planet?) |

"Datol" is derived from datolite, one
of JA's favorite minerals especially the type found exclusively in the
Upper Peninsula of Michigan, his home state.
'Illina' and 'Sedna' are actually Inuit names. |

The tattoos on Illina's face were based on real tattoo art of the Inuit which unfortunately died with the last true Inuit tattoo artist in 1912. The lines on chin (applied at very young age) indicted the personality of each Inuit woman. Tight lines indicted seriousness, hence, hard worker (strongly favored) while wider lines exposed happy-n-round personality, but tend to be a poor worker. The hard workers are very essential in order to survive the harsh conditions of minus Celsius environments. She was just waking up from her hibernation. |

Illina had lost her right arm in one serious senshi battle, and replaced it with a retractable sword. The unusual style of her sailor senshi uniform was designed for extreme cold conditions of Sedna. |

Illina had learned to fight the Oni (Japanese name for demons) and became very experienced at combat. |

Datol was dying from damaged he suffered during the invasion of the Oni, but his life was preserved by being encrusted in a stasis-like crystal the courtesy of Illina of Sedna. Only his mind remained active which he was able to telepathically expand his mind to learn what needs to be learned as well as learning to do telekinetic (moving stuff with his brain). |

That is what Datol looked like before his near brush with death. He used to be associated with the Druids of the Silver Millennium. |

Datol specialized in producing the powered artifacts like the
Orb of Time considered one of most forbidden objects in the known universe.

According to the Inuit mythology, Goddess Sedna had fallen in love with her brother, and she got expelled as a punishment for such forbidden love. Datol and Illina were obviously engaged in some kind of forbidden relationship. They were not related, but it may have to do with the fact that Illina was a Sailor Senshi while Datol was a Druid. |
