Java Purple Agates (Purple Chalcedony)
West Java, Indonesia, Asia
.
Those are the kind fo agates that are passed as "Purple Chalcedony" and cabbed/carving in the simlar manner as chryoprase (green agate), and they are ususally sold by grams. Usually, it is quite hard to get any agates from Asia mainly due to the fact that the agates are in heavy demand by Chinese for carving purposes and there are not that much agates coming out of Asia countries.  I was lucky to come across one source that sells the agates by kilograms, but I don't know if I'll get some more later.
The colors of the West Agate range from purplish gray to purple, hence "Purple Chalcedony" and occasionally come with white, yellow(?) and red colors. Some agates came with what appeared to ben some plume-like inclusions but I have not been able to got one with very obvious plume-like structures yet. Many agates showed very good shadowing effect (Parallex).

The prices are reflected by the fact that I'm not sure if I'll be able to get more roughs and most are sold by grams.
