"Black River" Agates
Mesopotomia Region, Argentina, South America
.
Those agates were found along the rivers around Mesopotomia Region, and they may have been weathered from the same basalt formations that produced the world-famous Brazillian Agates in Brazil and Urugway. The agates are typically white to gray with some yellowish hue, and they in their rough forms, would look strongly brown to yellow, sometimes orange. Due to the nature of weathering, it is very common for Black River agates to be fractured in a way that it may be better to leave them in their natural forms, not polished. Many of the agates below also have been contour-polished (along the surface), and they would be cut only if possible (hard to clamp on such rounded forms)
All agates contain fractures unless stated otherwise.
