-Typical colors: White, black, gray,
brown, tan, yellow, other colors are rare.
-Typical sizes:
3 to15 centimeters, rarely larger
-Typical shapes: Rounded to oval
chert-like nodules
-Most distinguishing characteristic:
White to brownish agate in tan cherty matrix.
-Special Notes:
Chromatography is somewhat common while constrasting banding are rare.
Quartz geodes are far more common than those with agate. Very small percentage
of rough are of any good.
