gray, tan, yellow, and white.
-Typical sizes: 2
to 12 centimeters, rarely larger.
-Typical shapes: Potato-like (some
rounded due to water action like thsoe found along the beaches and rivers).
-Most distinguishing characteristic:
Most nodules look like as if they had been tumbled to some degree (water
action), and some look "wet"/polished due to glacial activity.
-Special Notes:
Lake Superior Agates are well-known for their constrasting white and red
bands.
