Dwarves' Earth Treasures Museum: How to ID Agate Roughs
Laguna Agates
.

-Typical colors: White (most common), pink, red, orange, yellow, lavendar, rarely in other colors.
-Typical sizes: 2-12 centimeters, rarely in larger sizes
-Typical shapes: Irregular shaped but rounded/oval shapes.
-Most distinguishing characteristic: Irregular & rounded nodules commonly have green color on them.
-Special Notes: They have tightest and most colorful bandings of any agates. The Laguna agates come from four claims: Macedonia, Mesquite, Conijeros, and Aliazna. Less quality Macedonia & Mesquite nodules are more commonly encountered, and they have more "washed-out" colors and thicker bandings than those from Conijeros and Aliazna claims (tend to contain tigher bandings).
