Phoenix Datolites
Phoenix Mine, Phoenix, Keweenaw Co., Michigan
.
I have found several datolites at Phoenix Mine while moving the rocks to search for analcime crystals. My first datolite I found at Phoenix Mine just rolled down before me as if it was expecting me. It turned out that this datolite was lemonade colored, a rare find at Phoenix Mine. After that I would usually find one datolite at the same area each year. The datolites are typically colorless and some are coarse grained.
