.      The datolites can be found along the shores of Lake Superior especially those on Keweenaw Point and Isle Royale, and more can be found by scuba diving (wouldn't that be "cheating"?). The shores of Isle Royale island had produced excellent datolite nodules (few being basketball sized), but right now, the island is closed to any collecting (there goes the top quality greenstones!). A seam of strong yellow datolites had been discovered by scuba diving at the Keweenaw Point, and I don't know if there are still any more left to be found. Agates and thomsonites also have been found along the beaches of Keweenaw Point.
