Dwarves' Earth Treasures Museum:
"Straw Bed" Thundereggs(?)
Wiley Well, Wiley Well Site, south of Bythe, California
.
I'm not 100% sure on where those thundereggs came from. They could have came from Fort Cove, Utah, but I think that it's more likely that they came from "Straw Bed" in Wiley Well area and there is almost no mention of that bed anywhere except Paul "GeodeKid" Calburn's "Foramtion of Thundereggs" CD.
It is not known if any more can be found there and there might be still some more hidden thunderegg deposits nearby waiting to be discovered. The agates within them are typically white to gray with fine banding resulting in strong shadowing effects and some came with red to pink colors . It is common to see the black calcite crystals in them and some thundereggs have been found with sagenite inclusions but they are rarely fully silicified as I found out from cutting a crater of such thundereggs.
