Dwarves' Earth Treasures Museum:
Radford Thunderegg
Radford Mine,
Ochoco Mountains, Oregon
.
The Radford Mine, one of several thunderegg sites around Ochoco Mountains, was opened in 1960s by Mr. Radford and the thundereggs from that mine is identified by their smooth bubbly surface. They appear to contain featureless white to light blue agate cores and I don't know how rare is it to find those tinted with orange, black and yellow colors nor how rare is green moss in them. I have not obtained enough roughs to be more familiar wit them and it will be more difficult to obtain them. The mine appears to be long closed and locating the Radford thundereggs are said to be quite difficult. The story was that Mr. Radford loved the mine so much that when he died, his ashes were spread all over the mine. All thundereggs on display below were obtained from the old stock of 1970s.
