Dwarves' Earth Treasures Museum: Radium Springs Thundereggs
Radium Springs, Dona Ana County, Mexico
.
This is one of several thundereggs sites within the
vicnity of Radium Springs (northeast of Deming). The thundereggs from Radium
Springs site tend to be very large but with very narrow cores that a cut
must be made through the single ridge to get as much agate as possible
on a cut face. The agate face is usually featureless with light blue to
reddish colors, rarely with bright white color. Some thundereggs had been
found with marcasite inclusions.
