Dwarves' Earth Treasures Museum:
Fred Bed Thundereggs
Mill Creek Valley, WildCat Mountains, Central Oregon
.
I have not visited Oregon yet so I do not know that much about so many thunderegg deposits around Oregon. The Fred Bed site is one of several sites around Wildcat mountain that produces thundereggs and it was said to be closed to collecting. The thundereggs are easily identifiable by their smooth brown thundereggs with bleached edges and fractures as if they had been underwater for a while.

Additional information can be found at Hinkle's Rock Shop: www.oregonthundereggs.com

Rough Appearance: Smooth thundereggs with ridges, will show brown with bleached edges when cut.
Mostly hollow to solid quartz, but some are found with solid agate sometimes with mossy inclusions.
