Dwarves' Earth Treasures Museum:
Moctezuma Agates
Estacion Moctezuma, Chihuahua Pro., Mexico
.
Moctezuma agates are best known for their wide variety of pastel (light) colors sometimes in constrasting color combos. The Moctezuma agates are one of very few agates I know of that includes green color among its spectrum of colors they come in. Most common colors would be white, ivory, yellow and orange while red to pink colors (beside green) seems to be most scarce. I noticed that almost all Moctezuma agates have this outer opaque rim(first band/film), very useful in identifying the Moctezuma agates.  The interesting thing is that some nodules come in the shapes of cigars/tubes, hence, you can get many stabs of same size, shape and color (not always) from cutting such "cigar-like" nodules. I consider the Moctezuma Agates to be my favorite Mexican Agate.
The story was that the area used to be competely covered with agates that the Mexicans can easily pick up and that would explain why the Moctezuma agates are some what abundant in old lapidary stocks from 1960s digging, but it had been a long time since the last time they were mined.
