Dwarves' Earth Treasures Museum:
"Chopsticks" Agates
Gobi Desert of Northern China
.
There are several locations around Gobi Desert of Northern China that produces various types of agates. Iit's unfortunate that the Chinese miners are not willing to reveal their exact locations. As typical of the agates found the windy deserts, the surface of the rough was smoothened from so many centuries of sand carrying winds ("sandblasting") that they're quite hard to hold while grinding/polishing. One location produces the agates that are mostly clear but with occasionally constrasting banding resembling those of Botswana agates and other location produced the agate with "chop-sticky" sagenite inclusions.
