Dwarves' Earth Treasures Museum: "Black River" Agates
Mesopotomia Region, Argentina, South America
.
Those agates were found along the rivers around Mesopotomia
Region even it was stated that some agates are found along Rio Negro river,
hence "Black River Agates". They may have been weathered from the same
basalt formations that produced the world-famous Brazillian Agates in Brazil
and Urugway. The agates are typically white to gray with some yellowish
hue, and as in their rough forms, they would look strongly brown to yellow,
sometimes orange. Some agates would look better as rough forms while others
would look better as polished forms and it's rare to find any agates with
some colors.
