Dwarves' Earth Treasures Museum: Aqua Nueva Agates
Rancho Aqua Nueva, Chihuahua Province, Mexico

Nueva agates sometimes passed as "New Lagunas" due to their similar appearance
to the Laguna Agates as well as the fact that they were found just north
of the Laguna agate sites. They come in two forms, nodular and vein forms
with mossy structures. The vein and large nodules had been heavily mined
and borken into clunks that is suitable only or cabbing, and rarely specimens.
It is the greenish mossy structure that often give some agates the
multiple "Eye" structures that the Aqua Nueva Agates are renowned for.
The wide banded with pink, purple, lavendar and white are typical of the
Aqua Nueva agates while black, yellow and red colors are more desired.

Rough Appearance: Almond to rounded shapes with very bumpy and greenish
surfaces sometimes dotted with black "craters".
Can be confused with Laguna Agates except that Aqua Nueva Agates have
wider spaced bands and more green moss structures.
