Those are the main characters and they were classified by their specilization in the elemental powers. Most of the names were derived from the minerals which had already been named after the people. Note that many characters are actually based on real people not some boring (no offense!) hollywood-type "hotties/celebrities". Also, the properties of their elemental powers are more science-based than classic mystics (for example: throw out what you knew about black holes from the fatnasy games before learning about the real nature of the black holes.)
