![]() Daryl Smithson, an aspiring Pacificator of Light, has enthusiastically taken an offer of joining Commander Bismun Volborth's unusual Platoon of Pacificators with rare, "magical" but true to science powers. She has dreamed of helping people like what her grandmother did. To her dismay, she discovers that her platoon is dysfunctional. Taffe Torbern, with power of air, is half-heartedly doing her job as a junior commander, water-powered Larima's independence streak makes her a poor team player, Muneca Powell and Cinna, respectively, the Pacficators of Gravity and Fire, dislike each other to the point of being uncooperative with each other and often bicker with each other. The platoon's problems start to affect Daryl's motivation and it doesn't help that the Pacificators as an organization is not what she was led to believe and that creates even more problems. Even the name "Pacificators" is not popular with some of its members. Will Daryl be able to endure the difficult times by working to get her poorly-matched fellow Pacificators to work together to complete their missions. If she calls it quit, she will end up with her broken dreams, and her platoon will suffer grave consequences. To make the matters worse, the Pacificators' enemies, such as the rogue Renegades with elemental powers and enigmatic Nozimo with hidden agenda and protected by her allies such some political power-hungry Belinda Estaban, are on the move to hamper the peacekeepers' efforts and maintain the supposedly Second Dark Age.
