Skirt of Sailor Suit (Fuku)

    The skirt of the Sailor Suit (Fuku) may be toughest of any suit accessories to draw, and many artists including professional Japanese cartoonists usually have trouble with drawing the Sailor skirts. All I can do is to provide the basics on how to draw a Sailor Skirt.

    Using the outline of the hip of a human body as a guide, sketch a cone that should extend beyond the crotch.

    Draw the lines throughout the skirt, and the lines on both sides of the skirt should be in equal numbers (4 lines on one side, and four on the other side).

    Draw the lines to give the skirt a "hopper" appearance as shown in the picture.

    Improve on what you already drew and you're done!

    As mentioned before, the Sailor skirt is not easy to draw, so it'll take some practice to get your drawing of the skirt looking good.
