Applying the TRSE Tutorials to Other Animes

I had had been asked if I would do some tutorials for other animes. Well, the truth is that there are no need to produce such tutorials when the TRSE Tutorials CAN be applied to any other Animes/Mangas. Just take a look at the pictures below (be sure to review the tutorials on drawing headshots & full-figures first). It also helps to read an article on patterns too. .

As you can see, no matter how different the characters of various Animes/Mangas would look, the drawing basics are almost always the same. Only differences are the artists' drawing styles (their ways of drawing).
So all you need to do is to study the pictures of characters you want to draw, and make out the patterns in their drawing styles. By studying such pictures, you'll be able to figure out how to adjust your drawing methods to match the dimensions of the characters from other animes as mentioned in the Full-Figure Drawing Tutorials.

For example: let's say that you're used to drawing Sailor Moon and want to draw various characters from other Animes. Let's look at the pictures of the following characters and compare the differences:

As you can see, Sailor Moon and Goku look different, but the drawing basic remain the same! It's just a matter of knowing what sort of differences to look for. An examples of differences: Head size, size & shape of the eyes, nose, neck, and width of the face,.

So by making out the patterns in the various drawing styles, you'll be able to adjust your methods (adjusting the horizontal lines, thickness of torso, lengths of limbs, etc..) to match with their drawing styles, and that will take some practice. Remember, practice, practice, practice! ^_~

One more thing: you must be aware that if you imitiate someone else's art style, you also are imitating that artist's mistakes too! For example, look at the fogged pic of Goku, notice that the left side of his face is shorter than the right side. That is why it's best to draw them in your own way.
