Rock Springs Thundereggs
Mill Creek Wilderness, Mt. Ochoco Range, Oregon
One of older
thundereggs that had been mined for their colorful agate
cores. The agates are reddish to yellowish brown and most
are featureless, but few came with bands and horizontal
bands, sometimes with inclusions like plumes. The thunderegg
shells are kinda rotten and tan colored. The collecting is
no longer allowed for the bed was at the edge of Mill Creek
Wilderness area.
