Fred Bed Thundereggs
Mill Creek Valley, Ochoco Mtns, Crook County, Oregon
The Fred Bed site is one of several sites around Wildcat mountain that produces thundereggs and it was said to be closed to collecting. The story was that the miners were kicked off by a rancher for mistreatment of his land. The thundereggs are easily identifiable by their smooth brown thundereggs with bleached edges and fractures as if they had been underwater for a while. The agates are usually dark colored.
