Thundereggs of Section 640
mined by Lori Coleman of Spanish Stirrup Shop.
  Hermanas, Luna County, New Mexico

pic     Covering the entire section of New Mexico' trust land ("state land"), The Section 640 was granted a lease to Lori Coleman of Spanish Stirrup Shop in 2015. She attempted to mine several places around Section 640 starting with Tavenier Mine in 2016. The Tavenier Mine proved to be a bust (mined out). So from time to time over the years, she tried out other places and acquired better thundereggs by doing a grid-pattern of deep digging with backhoe. The mines are as listed going from Lindsburg pits (closest to Baker Egg Mine) toward the Torpedo Beds (near south boundary of Section 640).
The specimens from those deposits can be acquired from her Spanish Stirrup Rock Shop,

Site Status: As of Jan 2022, the deposits are on state land and under Section 640 Lease so it's best to leave it alone.
