There is something really weird about the agates from
Trent, Oregon. The location may be the only one in the world
where the
agates are found with stibnite, meta-stibnite, realgar(altered
to orpiment
when exposed to light) inclusions. They appeared to have been
collected in the
past and it's not known if they still can be found today.
The agate
is a vein type and are colorless, sometimes with yellow tint and
banding features. Realgar can
be noted by either breaking or cutting the agate clunks,
but they will eventually be altered to orange orpiment
once exposed to the light.
