Wolverine #2 Mine
Kearsage, Houghton Co., Michigan
Wolverine #2 is the first mine known to produce the agates with copper inclusions or "Copper Replacement Agates" as some people call them. The agates coming from there is the best of any copper mines in Michigan. What makes this mine dump the best is that many agates will come with so much copper inclusions especially the rare ones with whole and uninterrupted interlaying agate and copper bands. They tend to come in small sizes so you'd need a small trim rock saw to cut them and be careful, if they have copper in them, they will get hot easily. Copper are not the only mineral inclusion, chlorite, adularia (feldspar), datolite and even prehnite are also present in some agates.

All agates are found by myself (one time a year in August)
