Ojibway Mine
North of Mohawk, Houghton Co., Michigan
Ojibway Mine is another Kearsage Lobe mine that produced some agates. There is one narrow spot at the mine dump where the agate-bearing rocks are found. I searched that spot and found few agates before digging out a big rock showing hints of agates. I broke that rock down and extracted more agates out of it. :)
The small agates are orange to pink (sometimes reddish) and often come with "eye" structures and at least two agates are found with copper inclusions. I visited that dump a few times but haven't found any new agates so far.
