Purple Passion / Del Rey/ Sierra Madre Agate
Sierra Madre, Chihuahua Province, Mexico
The vein agates coming from Sierra Madre area were reported as "Purple Passion" agates and seen in Zenz's Agates I book and later placed under a claim by Albert Ray hence Del Rey Agates.  I like "Purple Passion" the best because the agates has the strongest purple colors in any agates I have seen so far. The agates are generally gray to lavender, occasionlly coming with pink, red, brown, white, black and of course, purple/violet colors. The reddish sagenite inclusions and psuedomorphs have been noted in some specimens.
